1. we use the past continuous to say what was happening around (before/ at / after)
2. afirmative: use was/were followed by the verb + ing.
3. negative: uses wast not/were not followed by the verb ting
4. -he was not wearing a hat , we were not drinking coffe.
5. he was wearing a hat, we were drinking coffe .
6. interrogative: use was/were + subject/pronoun + verb + ing
7. was he wering a hat? ,were you drinking coffee.
