3. Fostering/Adopting: "Egyptian practice of adoption is more like permanent legal fostering of an orphan, which is clearly allowed and is even seen as a good deed in Islamic cultures. Yet, legal fostering of this kind is very unpopular, especially among elites," (11).

5. Dr. Yehia: Egypt's most successful and popular IVF doctors whom Amira is his patient
6. Amira: Had previously become pregnant with her previous husband, however decided to have four abortions instead of continuing with the pregnancies
7. Infertility: "Most cases of tubal infertility and most cases of serious male infertility are virtually impossible to overcome without the special assistance of the new reproductive technologies, namely IVF and ICSI," (25).
