4.2. Educational requirements:
4.2.1. -75 hours of training.
5. Dialysis technician
5.1. Tasks include:
5.1.1. -Preparing the equipment
5.1.2. -Obtaining and recording patients' weight and vital signs before the procedure
5.1.3. -Administering local anesthetics and medications before, during, or after the procedure
5.1.4. -Beginning the procedure
5.1.5. -Monitoring the patient and machine during the procedure
5.1.6. -Observing the patient during the procedure for signs or symptoms of an adverse reaction
5.1.7. -Administering emergency care if there is an adverse reaction to any medication or to the procedure.
5.1.8. -Emergency care may include performance of basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation
5.1.9. -Cleaning the equipment after the procedure
5.1.10. -Training patients to perform their dialysis treatments at home
5.2. Educational requirements:
5.2.1. -16 to 18 weeks of training
