GUILDS OF THE RENAISSANCE

1. GUILDS ARE GROUPS or associations of craftsmen and merchants formed for mutual aid and protection for the betterment of their professionals.
2. FLORENCE AND GUILDS
2.1. Ideas weer not only coming of these guilds though.
2.1.1. Workshops were where artisans sometimes worked. There they were able to get critique and produce lots of their works.
2.1.2. Ideas came out of the surrounding environment of people. For example, in Florence where tight-knit communities existed.
2.2. Guilds in Florence worked the same as any other guilds.
2.2.1. Guilds in Florence helped to regulate trade and provide wealth to the city. They would make their products and sell them.
2.2.2. The guilds were responsible for setting quality standards for their works too.
3. Artisans made up these guilds. The artisan community spread ideas to each other very easily, which is relatable to how the Renaissance started. Some artisans got ideas from the local communities around them, aka human study.
4. Merchant Guilds
4.1. These guilds were groups of merchants. They monitored local and long distance trading, as well as dealing with various goods for selling.
5. Craft Guilds
5.1. Groups of similar craftsmen and artisans in a particular industry or commerce. There are many crafts guilds including the following...

5.1.2. Dyers
5.1.3. Wool trade
5.1.4. Building trade

5.1.4.2. Masons
5.1.5. Leatherworkers
