1. Aims
1.1. OVERARCHING: To develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to ensure that, individually and collaboratively students:
1.2. Design and technologies
1.2.1. Develop confidence using technology
1.2.2. Investigate and critiques designed solutions and generate solutions for sustainable futures
1.2.3. Generate design ideas and communicate them to a range of audiences
1.2.4. manipulate a range of materials, systems, components, tools and equipment to creatively produce designed solutions suitable for a range of contexts.
1.2.5. use learnt evaluations of process and designed solutions to new situations
1.2.6. understand the roles and responsibilities of people in DnT roles and how they contribute to society.
1.3. Digital Technologies
1.3.1. Meet and redefine current and future needs through designing, creating managing and evaluating sustainable and innovative digital solutions
1.3.2. Create digital solutions through computational thinking and by using key concepts of abstaction, data collections, representation, algorithms and specifications.

6. Subjects/content
6.1. The curriculum has two subjects within the Technologies learning area that break up the content to be covered
6.1.1. Digital Technologies
6.1.1.1. Achievement standard: the intended achievement at the end of each year level band, based on the effectiveness of the learnt content descriptors.
6.1.1.2. Year level band description: gives a detailed description of what is to be expected in the technologies content of a particular ear level band.
6.1.1.3. Content descriptors and Elaborations
6.1.1.3.1. This subject has two related strands. The content descriptors and elaborations are organised within these strands. The content from the knowledge and understanding strand can be selected when teaching and students can apply the skills to that content.
6.1.2. Design and technologies
6.1.2.1. Achievement standard: the intended achievement at the end of each year level band, based on the effectiveness of the learnt content descriptors.
6.1.2.2. Year level band description: gives a detailed description of what is to be expected in the technologies content of a particular ear level band.
6.1.2.3. Content Descriptors and Elaborations
6.1.2.3.1. This subject is organised into two related strands of content that ensures students get the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to design, plan, manage, produce and evaluate. Content descriptors and elaborations are organised under each strand.
