3. Verb followed by full infinitive and-ing form
3.1. Some verbs such as start ,begin ,continue,intend,etc. can be followed by either the full infinitives or the -ing forms no difference in meaning.

3.2.8. Regret + full infinitive =terminate an active and no longer do it after that time
3.2.9. Stop + full infinitive = pause temporarily in order to do something else
3.2.10. Go on + -ing form = continue an activity without stopping
3.2.11. go on + full infinitive = do something after completing something else
