1. Introductory paragraph

1.1. The article entitled "What are the pros and cons of social networking sites?' by J Strickland writes on the pros and cons of social networking sites. One of the main pros of social networking sites is it allows users to make connections with other users. Next, users can also use network professionally. Moreover, it makes it easier to organize events and invite friends . Then these sites also act as application platforms. Social networking sites also help artistes or actors to showcase their work. In addition, social networking may also help a person get out of jail. Besides that, social networking sites are used by scammers to fool people into downloading malicious software. Futhermore, users might be overwhelmed and addicted to social networking,

2. Body paragraph 1

2.1. According to Strickland, J, social networking can allow users to make connections with people around the world. It is also stated that it is convenient for users to track down their old friends and acquaintances and renew long-forgotten friendships, providing that the social network is well-known. We highly agree with this point made by Strickland.

2.2. We agree with this point because social media has revolutionized the way people communicate with one another, as it enables users to find their long lost friends by just searching up their names online.

2.3. Five Filipino domestic workers were reconnected with the help of social media after being separated for several years. Myla, a leader of a Filipino community in Hong Kong, recently took the initiative to reconnect with her four long-lost friends. She managed to find them on Facebook. (Asia Air Staff, 2018)

3. Body paragraph 2

3.1. Strickland also stated that social networking may also help a person to be released out of jail. Users can notify the people who follow them on social media accounts to get help before alerting the authorities. We disagree with this point made by Strickland.

3.2. We disagree with this point because people do not solely rely on social media to get out of jail. They have other ways or privileges to escape jail sentence. Social media is just to boost their chances of getting out.

3.3. James Karl Buck and his translator, Mohammed Maree were arrested in Egypt. James later tweeted about this and he immediately got attention from people around the world. Eventually James was released from jail but his translator was still arrested. This is because of the power of the network he had as an American that enabled him to be released so quickly. James also tried protecting Maree with his network but all it did was tore them apart. (Simon, 2008)

4. Body paragraph 3

4.1. Furthermore, Strickland J, specified that social networking sites are used by scammers to trick people into downloading malicious software. We agree with this statement.

4.2. We agree with this statement because with the growing rate of social networking sites, scammers take the opportunity to scam users with their smart and slick tactics. Other than that, people are more easily tricked because they take these things lightly.

4.3. For example, there was a case whereby anyone who Googled "Amazon" and clicked on the first link on the search result will be directed to a scam site. They will be tricked into calling a number thinking that their computer is infected with malware. (Whittaker,2018)

5. Conclusion

5.1. In conclusion, all users should be more wary of the usage of social media. They should be responsible with their actions and not be easily fooled by any scammers online. In addition, they also should use the Internet wisely and make full use of the convenience provided.

5.2. We agree that social networking sites can help users to make connections with other people. We also agree that social networking sites are used by scammers to trick users into downloading malicious software. However, we disagree that solely relying on social networking may help get a person out of jail.
