1. REGULAR VERB

1.1. Past simple and past participle by ending –ed to the base form.

1.1.1. call-called-called , talk-talked-talked

1.2. If the verb ends with a consonant –y change it into –i and add –ed.

1.2.1. marry-married-married , study-studied-studied

1.3. If the verb end with –e simply add –d.

1.3.1. hate-hated-hated , like-liked-liked

2. IRREGULAR VERB

2.1. 1) Verbs which have the same base form, past simple and past participle.

2.2. 2) Verbs which have the same past simple and past participle.

2.2.1. buy-bought-bought , find-found-found , keep-kept-kept

2.3. 3) Verbs which have the same base form and past participle.

2.4. 4) Verbs which have a different base form, past simple and past participle.

2.4.1. swim-swam-swum , drive-drove-driven , speak-spoke-spoken , eat-ate-eaten

3. FINITE VERB

3.1. it is the main verb in the sentence. It show :

3.1.1. Tenses ( Present tense, past tense and future tense)

3.1.1.1. I sleep every night.

3.1.2. Person ( First person, second person and third person)

3.1.2.1. She works everyday.

3.1.3. Number ( Singular and plural)

3.1.3.1. (Singular) It, She, He

3.1.3.2. (Plural) we, you, they

4. NON-FINITE VERB

4.1. It is not the main verb in the sentence and does not express any action.

4.1.1. INFINITIVE

4.1.1.1. play , run , sing

4.1.2. PARTICIPLE

4.1.2.1. Past participle

4.1.2.1.1. I was interested in the movie.

4.1.2.2. Present Participle

4.1.2.2.1. The movie is very interesting.

5. AUXILIARY VERBS

5.1. A. VERB TO BE, VERB TO DO VERB TO HAVE.

5.1.1. I am happy

5.2. B. WILL, SHALL , WOULDL

5.2.1. She would stay here

5.3. C. CAN, COULD, MAY, MIGHT, SHOULD, OUGHT TO, MUST, HAVE TO, NEED.

5.3.1. May I go to bathroom, please?

6. PHRASAL VERB

6.1. VERB + PREPOSITION , ADVERB

6.1.1. Inseparable with no object

6.1.1.1. set off, speed off, wake up

6.1.2. Inseparable with object

6.1.2.1. look after, look into, run into, cope with

6.1.3. Separable verb

6.1.3.1. turn on, turn off, turn down, look up

7. TRANSITIVE VERB

7.1. Is the verb that is used with an object (need an object)

7.1.1. SUBJECT + TRANSITIVE VERB + OBJECT

7.1.1.1. give, buy, pass, make, sell, take, show, offer,leave, wish, lend, cost

8. INTRANSITIVE VERB

8.1. Is the verb that no need an object. It’s completed and understand.

8.1.1. SUBJECT + INTRANSITIVE VERB + OBJECT
