Assessment: Validity & Reliability by Mind Map: Assessment: Validity & Reliability

1. Methods of Estimating Reliability

1.1. Test-Retest or Stability - Correlating between two sets of scores.

1.2. Alternate Forms or Equivalence - Two different forms of tests that measure the same objectives.

1.3. Internal Consistency - Items correlate with one another; with consistency.

1.3.1. Split-half methods - Students are assigned one half or the other, such as odd or even.

1.3.2. Kuder-Richardson methods which items within one form of the test have in common with one another.

2. Validity Evidence

2.1. Content Validity Evidence - Do the test questions correspond with what should be covered in the test?

2.2. Criterion-Related Validity Evidence - Test scores are correlated with an external criterion.

2.2.1. Concurrent criterion-related validity evidence -

2.2.2. Predictive validity evidence - How well does the test predict future behavior?

2.3. Construct Validity Evidence - Is the test's relationship to other information correspond well with a theory?

3. Validity Coeficients

3.1. Concurrent validity - How well does the performance on new test match performance on established test?

3.2. Predictive validity - Does the test predict success or failure for the next grade?

3.3. Content validity - Are the objectives matched and measured in the test items?
