Summary: How does single parenting affects children? (Academically) Most single parents households are run by mothers and the absence of their father, coupled with lower household income and can increase the risk of children performing poorly in school. (Emotionally) Children raised by single parents have been found to suffer from serious psychiatric illness and addictions later on in life.

Evaluation: I found this source to be useful becuase it provided me witrh a lot of information that was needed. It was produced by Jones September 7, 2007. I think it is believed to be relieble because other websites I did research on had most of the same information.

Findings/Contribution: The lack of finacial support from a father often results in single mothers absence, in which the children will receive less attention and guidance on their homework. Serious emotions include difficulty in school, serious depression, abandoment; lonliness, difficulty socializing, and criminal activity. 72% are teenage murders and 60% commit rape
