1. Analyze

1.1. Gather Data/Subject Analysis

1.1.1. This is where we ask questions, observe, send out surveys, discuss with stakeholders, and research in order to find out: who is the audience, what is their demographic? What do we hope to achieve with the training, what are the constraints and delivery options, what is the timeline for completion, how will objectives be achieved?

1.1.1.1. Complete: Needs analysis based on objectives

1.1.1.2. Create: Learner ability chart

1.1.1.3. Conduct: performance analysis

2. Design

2.1. Create Strategy Using Findings from Analysis Phase

2.1.1. Design phase is where we decide delivery strategy. Is this a video, a training course, a quiz ?

2.1.1.1. Set: Course Level Objectives and Learning Objectives

2.1.1.2. Create: prototype/storyboard using PPT (ensure stakeholders have access to storyboard for collaboration)

2.1.1.3. Choose LMS if any

3. Develop

3.1. Put designs into Action; Create the Course/Training

3.1.1. Development phase is exactly what it sounds like, create the content, format your course, make quizzes, formative assessments, videos, readings, guides, etc.

3.1.1.1. Add details to prototype/storyboard

3.1.1.2. Polish details; add multimedia, colors, fonts, graphics

3.1.1.3. Test and review your course, not just the content but the navigation

4. Implement

4.1. Share the Course/Training with Learners via LMS

4.1.1. During this phase the learners access the course; it is important to ensure the course/training and content function as intended

4.1.1.1. Roll out course to learners

4.1.1.2. Consider piloting the course first in small batches

4.1.1.3. Train/Explain importance of training to learners

5. Evaluate

5.1. Gain and Utilize Feedback about the Course to make Necessary Revisions

5.1.1. Although the Evaluation phase is last, it is best to evaluate throughout the process of developing a training or course. We need to check if the course has met the objectives we laid out during Analysis/Design Phases, based on what we learn from stakeholders and learners we can make revisions.

5.1.1.1. Create a report outlining the training's impact. Did the training meet objectives, and did it meet the organization's business goals?

5.1.1.2. Send out surveys to learners, discuss the course with learners/leaders/stakeholders, take notes. Use the summative evaluations to see if learners met intended objectives.

5.1.1.3. Recommend changes based on your evaluation of the course and make those changes if time/budget allows
