1. Inter and intramolecular forces

1.1. Intramolecular forces are those that,within the molecule,hold it together, for example, the bonds between atoms.

1.2. Intramolecular forces are the attractions between molecules, which determine many of the physical properties of a substance.

2.1. -Water is an excellent solvent.

2.2. -Water is less dense as a solid than as liquid.

2.3. -Water has conhesive and adhesive properties.

3. Water as solvent and buffer

3.1. Solvent

3.1.1. Water is the liquid that dissolves more substances (universal solvent)

3.2. Buffer solution

3.2.1. Its high specific heat ( 1 kcal/kg° C= 4180 J/kg.K) a consequence of its great capacity to store energy in hydrogen bonds.

4.1. Water has a simple molecular structure. It is made up of one oxygen atom and two hydrogen atoms.

5. Biological function

5.1. It eneables the transport of nutrients to the celis.

5.2. Helps with the digestion of food.

5.3. Helps regulate body temperature.

6.1.1. The water has o taste.

6.1.2. Colorless.

6.1.3. It can be in the thethree states of matter: liquid, solid and gas.
