4. Questions I thought of to formulate my thesis

4.1. THESIS

4.1.1. Domestic violence occurs every day in several homes across America. Women that are involved in an abusive relationship endure a wide range of abuse to include emotional, sexual and physical.

4.1.2. These women are subjected to domination by their partner, constant ridicule, separation from family and friends, possible physical violence every day and much more.

4.1.3. The question that always comes to mind when these cases are mentioned is “Why do they stay?” Several factors such as the destruction of self-esteem, which occurs with the mental abuse, fear for their lives and possibly their children’s lives and feeling like they have no safe place to go are reasons why the women stay with their abuser.
