1. Training
1.1. Training includes: classroom instruction in constitutional law, civil rights, state laws and local ordinances, and police ethics and they should practice to have experience in areas such as patrol, traffic control, use of firearms, self-defense, first aid, and emergency response.
2. Important Qualities
2.1. Communication skills- police need communication skills when gathering facts about crimes.
2.1.1. Physical Strength- Police have to be strong to physically defend others.
2.1.1.1. Good Judgement- Police and detectives need to see the best way to solve problems
2.1.1.1.1. Leadership Skills- police and detectives must be comfortable with being a highly visible member of their community, as the public looks to them for assistance in emergency situations.
3. Police and Detectives
3.1. Police, detectives, agents, and inspectors are usually always all day working because protection is always needed.
4. G.E.D
4.1. College or a higher degree
4.1.1. require some college coursework.
5. Graduate from the training academy
5.1. Knowledge of a foreign language
5.1.1. have to pass physical exams of vision, hearing, strength, and agility, as well as competitive written exams.
5.1.1.1. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, usually be at least 21 years old, have a driver’s license, and meet specific physical qualifications.
