1. Research

1.1. We did not do any research for our prelim tasks we did not look into any genre.

1.1.1. Changing this for my current piece I have done research into every component of my piece to make sure I got genre and audience correct.

1.1.2. I have researched the conventions of my genre so I could make sure I included them in my piece and so my piece would look like a film of my genre.

1.1.3. I have research similar texts to see what conventions they have used and to make sure my piece looked professional.

1.1.4. I also researched into my target market to see what things they enjoyed and to make sure I represented them effectively in my piece so they could relate to it.

2. Planning

2.1. I planned what I wanted to happen in my piece but I did not plan any dialogue.

2.1.1. For my final piece I planned using storyboards, an animatic, full plot synopsis and screenplay.

2.1.2. In the screenplay I planned out all the movement and dialogue for my characters to make sure my actors new what to do and say.

2.2. I did not create any story boards to plan movement or shot types.

2.2.1. I planned out my shots in a shot list, but also through story boards and an animatic to show how my piece would look and how long each shot would last for.

2.3. For my prelim I did not plan costumes, locations or characters for my piece.

2.3.1. For my final piece I planned my location based on my synopses I also went and did a recce of my location to see anythings that I needed to bring and to do a risk assessment.

2.3.2. I planned both my characters and my costume for my piece based on generic conventions and symbolism.

2.3.3. I also chose my actors according to the characters so they fit the physical types and could act the part.

3. Contrustion

3.1. I filmed my piece in the classroom using a Panasonic HDD.

3.1.1. I filmed my final piece in a chosen set after doing a location recce and choosing props and costume.

3.1.2. I used a Panasonic HDD camera to film my piece also using a track and a tripod throughout my production.

3.2. I filmed only one take of each shot.

3.2.1. I filmed multiple takes of each shot in my final piece to make sure I had good quality shots to use during editing.

3.3. In these shots my actors improvised the dialogue.

3.3.1. My actors were prepared using a screenplay to know what to do and their dialogue.

3.3.2. They were also prepared with character profiles to tell them about the character they were playing.

3.4. Whilst constructing my prelim I used three different shots to show the action and the interaction between the characters.

3.4.1. In my final piece I used several different types of shots. This helped make my piece look more professional.

3.4.2. I filmed each of these shots several times to make sure they were done correctly.

4. Editing

4.1. I edited my piece using Final Cut Express where I could cut my videos and put them together.

4.1.1. I also edited my final product using Final Cut Express but I used more of the facilities to make my product look professional.

4.2. For my prelim I only used basic cuts between shots and added no sound effects or titles.

4.2.1. In my final piece I used a range of transitions between my shot to make it flow smoothly and to make it look professional.

4.2.2. I also used sound effects in my final piece to make sure I got the diegetic sound into my piece and to add sound effects that are related to the supernatural piece.

4.2.3. I also added overlaid titles and added intertitles to my final piece to show credits for the people who "made" my film.

5. Sound

5.1. I only used the sound recorded using the camera, I added no other sound to my piece.

5.1.1. For my final piece I created a soundtrack to create a supernatural atmosphere, I layers this under other sounds and changed the volume depending on the shot.

5.1.2. I also added other dietetic sounds to my piece which would have not been picket up by the camera.

6. Lighting

6.1. For my prelim I used the lighting available in the classroom and I not alter the lighting in any way.

6.1.1. For my final piece I chose the lighting carefully and planned it for each of my shots.
