Google Docs: Within Google Drive, there are many resources that will be beneficial in creating a mission statement:

Google Document can be used to share the previous mission statement, sample mission statements, draft reviews for input and final drafts of the mission statement.

Google Spreadsheet can be used to frontload data to leadership teams/oversight committees and staff related to background information to determine the current status of the school to they have a strong understanding of where the school currently stands, while also determining how to get where they want to be. (i.e. student attendance and tardy rates by grade level/department; staff attendance data by grade level,/dept., days of week, assessment data, staff turn over, discipline data/trends…)

Google Form can be utilized to develop surveys to gain insights to essential questions developed by the Leadership/Oversight teams. Data gathered from the surveys on Form can be translated into graphs and charts to be used in the mission development process.

Google Drawing might be used to provide an opportunity for students within the school to collaborate with teams to create a visual representation of the final mission statement, the most appropriate to be determined by an the leadership/oversight team. The selected visual would serve as a communication tool to the school community.

Google Calendar is a great tool for scheduling meetings, inviting others and confirming attendance. This will be helpful for gathering groups with varying schedules and assuring attendance at mission development meetings.
