1.1. Do not misuse social media! Blackmailing or harassing others, making posts or posting images of negative contents.
2. 5. Respect, respect, and Respect!
2.1. Socialising takes years of experience and there are a lot of "skills" when socialising. However, it all comes down to one simple concept : respect.
2.2. Know what to post and what NOT to post. Offensive posts or even worse, cyber bullying, could basically ruin the rest of your school/college life, maybe even affect your career!
2.3. Do not judge. Respect other's opinions. Be careful with the words you use in public discussions
3. 6. Know where you're going
3.1. If your applying for a job of a certain profession, show your passion and interest towards that field of knowledge by posting news, photos, participate in discussions etc. that revolves around that field.
3.1.1. Bonus points to impress your potential employers!
4. 1. Check yourself out!
4.1. To develop a positive online reputation, you first have to KNOW yourself. How's your reputation RIGHT NOW.
4.2. Google yourself
4.3. Check what you posted on Facebook, twitter and all sorts of social media!
5. 2. Clean yourself up!
5.1. if you find any potential "black history" of yourself online? Clean it up! Delete it, change it, hide it etc. Just make sure it doesn't show!
5.1.1. If deleting is too bothersome? Change your privacy settings can save you a lot of time.
