1. So why did all of these events happen??

1.1. All of these events happened because the government did not want the Native Americans to live in the southeast . They needed to relocate the Native Americans because it was a majority decision .

1.1.1. Majority- Majority is almost all of a group agreeing on a decision .

1.1.2. Relocate- moving to a new region or new area .

4.1. The Trail of Tears was an act by he government which led the Native Americans out of their land because the white settlers wanted to grow cotton on the settled Indian land.

4.1.1. The Indians had to walk along the Mississippi River which was treacherous for the Native Americans.

5. Native American Resistance

5.1. In 1812 the Sauk chieftain named Black Hawk was a leader of the Sauk and Fox people to take their land back in Illinois where they originally were . They used guerrilla tactics on the American people who stole their land.

6. The Cherokee Nation

6.1. Did the Cherokee Nation agree to give up their land? No they did not. They were very angry and didnt think it was right because Georgia ignored the Cherokee laws.

6.1.1. Cherokee People lived in Georgia and they were very protective of their land until they signed a treaty which gave up their homeland which started their journey called The Trail of Tears.
