2. Specialized Cells
3. Organelles in the Cytoplasm
4. Enter the Cell
4.1. Cell Wall
4.1.1. The cell wall is a rigid layer of nonliving material that surrounds the cells of plants and some other organisms. The cells of animals do not have cells walls.
4.2. Cell Membrane
4.2.1. All cells have cell membranes. The cell membrane controls what substances come into and out of a cell.
5. Sail on to the Nucleus
5.1. Nuclear Envelope
5.1.1. The nuclear envelope protects the nucleus. Materials pass in and out of the nucleus through pores in the nuclear envelope.
5.2. Nucleus
5.2.1. Strands, called, chromatin, contain genetic material, the instructions for directing the cell's functions.
5.3. Chromatin
5.3.1. Strands, called, chromatin, contain genetic material, the instructions for directing the cell's functions.
5.4. Nucleolus
5.4.1. A nucleolus is where ribosomes are made.
