1. Discriminzation against Blacks "The Jim Crow Laws"

1.1. The Jim Crow Laws were laws that were enacted by the Southern states in the 1880's, that segrated blacks and whites.

1.2. The Jim Corw Laws was a desgined of system based on racilizations that whites were superior to blacks.

1.3. Example of the Jim Crow Laws are the following: " A black male could not offer his hand (to shake hands) with a white male because it implied being socially equal. Obviously, a black male could not offer his hand or any other part of his body to a white woman, because he risked being accused of rape"

1.4. " Blacks and whites were not supposed to eat together. If they did eat together, whites were to be served first, and some sort of partition was to be placed between them."

1.5. " Under no circumstance was a black male to offer to light the cigarette of a white female -- that gesture implied intimacy."

1.5.1. Housing was also a big part of discriminations for blacks because many could not live in the communities that white did.

2. Territory gained in War by the U.S (Spanish War and Mexican-American War)

2.1. The Spanish War was in 1898, The U.S was in conflict with Spain.

2.2. Spain and the U.S were in conflict over the Cuba

2.3. As a result the U.S won victory over Spain , that ended the Spanish colonial rule and gained territory by the U.S

3. Becoming White in the U.S

3.1. Italian and Jews were post civil war not considered white were now being consider whites too.

3.1.1. Many were mistreated and oppressed like the white were in the beginning.
