1.1. The tone of this poem is that everyone is that the working class works very hard to achieve the American Dream

1.1.1. In the text, it says, "Mechanics. . . carpenter. . . boat man. . . singing with open mouths their strong melodious songs"(Whitman). This displays that the people in the story have jobs that include a lot of work. These people work hard to achieve one goal, the American Dream.

1.2.1. In the text everybody is working hard the audience it is shooting for is the people that are unemployed

1.3. Someone who is considered part of this America is the people who work very hard to achieve the American Dream.

2.1.1. In the text, it says,"They'll see how beatufil I am"(Hughes). This displays that anyone can acheive the American Dream and show how they are the same as everyone else

2.2.1. In the text " I am the darker brother. They send me to eat in the kitchen" (Hughes). This shows how his family takes care of him no matter what he looks like because he is part of the family. He loves how he isn't judged because of his skin color and eats like everyone else with his family

2.3. Someone who is considered part of America in this poem is the people who work hard to achieve their goal but are treated unequal by the ones who have more money.

2.3.1. In the text, it says,"They will see how beautiful I am and be ashamed"(Hughes). This describes how the main character believes that when he achieves the American Dream those people who mistreated him will see that he is equal to them.

4. I hear America singing by Walt Whitman and I,Too,Sing American by Langston Hughes are similar and different. They are different since in I Hear America Singing, it describes how any one can work hard and achieve the American dream. In I,Too,Sing America, it describes how the American dream can be achieved but people may try to stop you. These poems are similar because they both are talking about achieving the American Dream and that this dream is possible for any one
