1.1.3. Ubuntu is a computer operating system based on the Debian GNU/Linux distribution and is distributed as free and open source software with additional proprietary software available. It is named after the Southern African ethical principle Ubuntu ("humanity towards others"). Ubuntu provides an up-to-date, stable operating system for the average user, with a strong focus on usability and ease of installation. Web statistics suggest that Ubuntu's share of Linux desktop usage is about 50%, and upward trending usage as a web server. Ubuntu is sponsored by the UK-based company Canonical Ltd.

1.3.2. Cons: 1 Pricey 2 graphics-accelerated apps availability less than windows.

4.1. iOS

4.1.1. Pros: 1 Very easy to use with everything clear and obvious for even first time users. 2 App store is number one from android.

4.1.2. Cons: 1 Auto navigation is not free. 2 Apps are rejected by apple when felt competed by other applications.

4.2. Android

4.2.1. Pros: 1 Has all possible features such as; wi-fi hot spots, Adobe Flash, Widgets etc.. 2 over the years it has picked up some UI design elements giving android 3D wallpapers and many more applications.

4.2.2. Cons: 1 Lacks the timeless beauty, simplicity and look of an iOS. 2 has only 1/5 the apps that the iPhone has.

4.3. RIM

4.3.1. Pros: 1 BB's BBM feature 2 Keyboard pad useful for emails and texts.

4.3.2. Cons: 1 BB lacks in apps and the new skype which most smartphones have. 2 Camera isn't at its best.

4.4. Symbian

4.4.1. Pros: 1 Can get all possible features and a bit more such as; FM radio, multiple home-screens and USB on the Go connectivity which android can't. 2 Battery life better than any android

4.4.2. Cons: 1 good phone just falls behind with the generation. 2 Uses Ovi store for apps. not doing so well.
