A colleague of mine, a highly sought consultant among Canadian FNMI peoples, has been invited to help a major natural-resource-based business conceptualize community ownership of that resource. The framework my colleague has been given within which the business would like to see community ownership developing is 100 years. The business does not want to pressure, nor to rush, the FNMI communities with which they are concerned. Their objective is respectful connection with these communities.

The reason I have added this to the VOICE concept map is that it seems to me that the research team is experiencing difficulty with the temporal structure implicit in the CURA reporting deadlines. I wanted to have some discussion about different concepts of time: so that we consider not just linear time (chronos), our \'western thought\' way of using and responding to time, but also felt time (kairos), a more natural rhythm of time -- also known as \"circadian\" time -- which is more typical of the lived experience of northern and FNMI people.
