Five Hypothesis on Language Acquisition (Stephen Krashen)
von Katie Kane
1. Acquisition Learning: obtaining language passively and informal. Becoming aware of the rules
2. Monitor: edits the output by acquired system. Rules are learned to polish oral or written 2nd language. Should be learned freely
3. Natural Order: Acquire grammatical structure in sequence (subject, verb, object)
4. Input: Comprehensive input, messages must be coded to be fully understood
5. Affective Filter: Safe environment for learners. Motivation, self esteem and anxiety free
