2.1. Some Canadians are unable to participate in physical activity due to disease, injuries, or other health concerns

2.2. Doctors or other health professionals may recommend daily physical activity for better overall health

4. School Programs

4.1. Physical education is mandatory from preschool to grade 9

4.1.1. From grade 10-12, it is the individuals choice of whether or not they want to stay active

4.1.1.1. Further career opportunities may motivate individuals to further their active lifestyle at school or outside of school

4.2. The government aims to promote physical education for a life long healthy lifestyle

4.2.1. All schools within Canada must promote healthy active living to students of all ages

4.2.2. This ultimately reduces child obestiy rates, motivating them to continue being active as they are taught physical literacy

5. Long Term Athletic Development

5.1. It is a 7-stage model of a training, competition, and recovery program based on developmental age

5.1.1. Ensures physical literacy on which active and athletic excellence can be built supporting the 4 goals of the Canadian Sport Policy: enhanced participation, enhanced excellence, enhanced capacity, and enhanced interaction.

5.2. With the help of coaches, youth are more motivated to participate in physical activity

5.2.1. Athletes may pursue organized sport as an elite athlete or chose to practice a simple active lifestyle

5.3. It is beneficial for Canada as it improves participation in physical activity which results in better adult athletes

5.3.1. It reminds Canadians of the importance of being physically active

6. Daily Schedules

6.1. Many Canadians are preoccupied with their day-to-day matters and have physical activity as a last priority.

6.1.1. Individuals may have busy schedules that conflict with having the time to play sports

6.2. Some Canadians have lots of time for physical activity

6.2.1. Parents may enroll their child in more than one sport

6.3. Due to many responsibilities such as school and work, more time is spent at a desk

6.3.1. This ultimately results in more sedentary time and less time to be active

6.4. Canadians who have a career in trades may not feel the need to be physically active outside of work

7. Community & Environment

7.1. Some communities have recreational places for active living or cooperative sports teams

7.1.1. Many community centres and workplaces have gyms for training

7.2. Communities in the country side may offer a variety of sports and activities

7.2.1. Only select sports are offered in those communtiies

7.3. Organised sports teams are available at a price which may not be affordable for some individuals.

7.4. Commute may be an issue if the activity/sport is located far from home

7.4.1. There are many forms of transportation such as busses, cars, trains, taxis, bicycles, etc.

7.4.1.1. Some communities may not offer buses or taxis due to a small population

7.4.1.2. Many schools use busses to transport students to and from school. Carpooling is another option.
