Chapter 8 - Motion

1. Distance - Total Path length covered and Displacement - Shorted Possible Route or Actual Distance between initial and final position

2. Uniform - When and object covers equal distance in equal interval of time and Non uniform Motion - When an object covers unequal distance in equal interval of time

3. Speed - Distance/Time - m/s - Scalar Quantity and Velocity - Displacement /time - unit - m/s - Vector Quantity

3.1. Average Velocity = Initial velo. + Final Velo. / 2

3.1.1. Average Speed - Total distance/Total Time

4. Acceleration - Rate of change of velocity - Acceleration = Change in velocity/ Time - Unit - m/s2 - Vector Quantity

4.1. s = ut + 1/2at2

4.2. Retardation - Negative acceleration - When velocity of moving object decreases with time we call it retardiation

6. Uniform Circular Motion - If an object moves in a circular path with uniform speed it is said to perform uniform circular motion

7. E.g - Motion of moon around earth, Motion of Earth around the Sun, Merry Go round
