1.2.2.1. Students will be beginning to remember the different provinces and territories in Canada. The students will be able to explore their country through google maps.

1.2.4.1. Students will listen to my explanation on Canada and its parts. They will then go onto computers and google maps. They will label with markers all of the capital cities in the provinces and territories. Then they will label Brandon and Ottawa for our city and the country's capital city. They will label two bodies of water in Manitoba. Lastly they will find a town that has an interesting name in Manitoba. There should be three layers and each thing labelled and with a marker.

1.2.4.2. Students will be given time after to play around with street view on google maps. Try to locate their house or the school for example.

1.4.5.1.1. Discuss where we live setting the context. Ask the students for our country, province and city names. Locate Canada on a map and globe.

1.4.5.2.1. I will use google maps on the whiteboard to explore our country highlighting each province and their capital cities. I will then use my demonstration on the board to show the students what I want them to explore to practice identifying places in Canada,

1.4.5.3.1. At the computer lab the students will be able to explore themselves. There will be a worksheet with a checklist for them to complete. Marking all the capitals, the two bodies of water and a city in Manitoba. Afterwards they can explore on google maps.
