1. Electrical Technicians and Technologists:
1.1. • participate in formal discussions about work processes or product improvement.
1.2. • have opportunities to make suggestions on improving work processes.
1.3. • monitor the work performance of others.
1.4. • inform other workers or demonstrate to them how tasks are to be performed.
1.5. • make hiring recommendations.
1.6. • orient new employees.
1.7. • select contractors and suppliers.
1.8. • assign routine tasks to other workers.
1.9. • assign new or unusual tasks to other workers.
1.10. • identify training that is required by, or would be useful for, other workers.
2. Participation in Supervisory or Leadership Activities
3. Description Electrical Technicians and Technologists work independently preparing reports and devising procedures but collaborate with co-workers and colleagues frequently during the planning phases of new projects and throughout the life of projects.
3.1. They work as part of a team to develop acceptance testing procedures and establish goals and points that they verify with the technical support and engineering groups.
3.2. They work alone when they are on-call to assess and solve problems.
3.3. They seek consensus from their work teams before deciding to perform tests.
3.4. They communicate with commissioning coordinators, field crews and line workers and assist them with technical support matters for equipment.
3.5. They may collaborate with colleagues and work within union agreements for making hiring recommendations and decisions.
3.6. They may work independently and with others to complete work tasks and to provide training.
