1. Career

1.1. I worked as a bedside nurse in various critical care (ICUs) & code team nursing (STAT/Code Blue Teams) settings for 9,5 years until I was injured with a patient for the second time (as a result I still have a lifting restriction of 25 lbs.)

1.2. My decision to leave bedside led me to a series of administrative roles with the thoracic transplantation and mechanical circulatory support (MCS) program (ending with a lead heart transplant and MCS coordinator) where over 4 years I had a hand in many South Florida firsts such as Syncardia Total Artificial Heart and Hepatitis C lung implantations and during my last year the center beat all-time records for the most transplants performed in a year since UNOS inception (aka ever)

1.3. ~ 2 years ago, I joined the trauma program in pursuit of better work culture and work-life balance as a performance improvement administrator (I found what I was looking for, hence having time to go back to school)

2. Interests

2.1. I enjoy traveling (visited over > 40 countries), and I spent half of the last semester in Armenia & Georgia (incorporating 8 hour difference)

2.2. I am in the process of remodeling my condo so my weekends belong to Home Depot & the likes (thankfully just the cosmetic touches left)

2.3. I volunteer at the local children's foundation and I help out in my hospital's Covid ICU (we are experiencing staffing shortage)

2.4. I love to dine out, go to shows, charity galas and various social events (safely)

3. Personal

3.1. I was born in Moscow, Russia (lived through the fall of the USSR)

3.2. I immigrated with my family to the U.S. (Maryland) when I was 11 years old (learned to speak conversational English in 6 months)

3.3. In my mid 20's, I moved to South Florida to pursue a career opportunity (and sunshine)

3.4. My nuclear family still calls Maryland home (although they prefer to spend their holidays in the Sunshine State with me)

3.5. Rest of my family immigrated as well and now reside in London, UK (unfortunately with the pandemic we only see each other on FaceTime and pictures)

4. Education

4.1. I graduated from University of Maryland School of Nursing with BSN

4.2. I am in my second year of MBA studies at Johns Hopkins University Carey School of Business (pursuing dual concentration in leading organizations and healthcare management).

4.3. I am flirting with the idea of applying for a dual degree at JHU, MS in Finance (and graduating a year later)
