1. Contructivism
1.1. Human learning is constructed on previous foundations
1.2. Active learning rather than passive
1.3. New information will be accommodated with the old foundations
1.4. Projects include more external, relevant sources
1.5. Constructivism is a practical where educators are urged to use physical and visual representations of the material to build on students' existing knowledge of the topic
2. Cognitive Load
2.1. Cognitive architecture refers to the mental structures our brains hold, such as long term and short term memories
2.2. Cognitive load theory is an information processing theory that is used to find the limits of cognitive architecture
2.3. 3 types of Cognitive load:
2.3.1. Extraneous
2.3.2. Intrinsic
2.3.3. Germane
2.4. Its implications for education is understanding the inner workings of a student's psyche and their ability to learn
3. Behaviouralism
3.1. Learning is a complex process consisting of responses to a certain stiumuli. 3 factors go into the ability for someone to learn
3.1.1. Discriminative Stimuli
3.1.2. Reinforceing Stimuli
3.1.3. Response
3.2. Behaviouralism can be used to educate students with learning or behavioral deficincies
4. Philosophy of Teachnology
4.1. The study of the intertwining of technology and teaching
5. Connectivism
5.1. Embracing technology in an Educational environment
5.2. Thinking and emotion influence each other
5.3. A student can learn more by joining in a group or network that has gained knowledge
5.4. Being up to date and accurate with information is the intent of all connectivist learning
5.5. In a class room situation the main idea with connectivism is shared learning. By learning in a group, students can expand their knowledge of a subject
