1. My new definition of technology
1.1. Technology is a tool, be it malleable or non-malleable, utilized in aiding human kind in pursuit of their goals.
2. Why do we need new technology?
2.1. As shown in "The history of technology in education," by SMARTEduMEA (2011), our use of technology has evolved and overtime became more complex, from using stones to draw on cave walls to using digital devices such as computers. Humans also became more reliant on technology over time, and stopping technological advancements can negatively affect humanity's ability to innovate and our reliant on technology means our daily lives will become stagnant.

4. What I thought before before this module
4.1. Initially, I thought of technology as complex machinery that were made to make tasks easier to complete.
4.1.1. Construction & Manufacturing
4.1.1.1. Road Roller
4.1.1.2. Crane
4.1.1.3. Packaging machine
4.1.2. Transportation
4.1.2.1. Automobile
4.1.2.2. Tank locomotive (train)
4.1.2.3. Airplane
4.1.2.4. Ship & boat
4.1.3. Personal Devices
4.1.3.1. Desktop & laptop
4.1.3.2. Mobile phone
5. What I've learned from the module
5.1. Technology is not restricted to machines that require energy or devices that need human input. Technology is used in our daily lives, and we rely on them to make maintaining civilisation easier.
5.1.1. To paraphrase Kelly's (2009) idea in "Technology's epic story," the discovery of fire gave humans the ability to cook food which reduced the amount of time and energy required to digest food, pushing the human body to adapt to new and improved diets (4:58).
5.1.1.1. Fire became technology when it was harnessed by early humans to aid them in survival and to improve quality of life.
5.1.2. According to findings in"What is technology?," "Technology represents the combination of human understanding of natural laws and phenomena accumulated since ancient times to make things that fulfil our needs and desires or that perform certain functions... It is a combination of “hardware” (buildings, plant and equipment) and “software” (skills, knowledge, experiences together with suitable organisational and institutional arrangement) (Li-Hua, 2007, Para.5).
5.1.2.1. Technology is not only what humans create, but the ability to apply the knowledge and understanding into their creations.
5.1.3. As shown in "Apple Christmas commercial 2021," by The Cool Commercials (2019), Apple focuses on our use of technology as a society as part of their marketing tactic, having a scene where a girl plays a casette tape on a vintage box television to watch a recording of her grandparents during their wedding, and having another scene where their whole family is watching the same recording on an Apple device.
5.1.3.1. Over time, some technologies become obsolete and are replaced by new ones that are more fitting for our needs. Technologies are constantly being invented and tweaked for quality of life improvements and innovation.
