The school day should start later to accommodate teenage sleep patterns.
von TYLER OBERLE
1. Barriers to overcome: Researching the topic and getting information, teaching everyone why teenagers don't get enough sleep, finding a viable solution that works for everyone, and implementing that solution.
2. Vocabulary: Circadian Rhythm - roughly 24 hour cycle in the physiological processes of living beings. Includes sleep patterns. Melatonin - a hormone that helps regulate sleep and wake cycles
3. Solutions: 1) Make school start later and end later. 2) Teach teenagers about ways they can go to bed earlier (no electronics before bed)
4. Resources: Staff of the school, research, people to spread the word, and people to help reschedule the school day.
5. People Involved: Everyone directly involved with the school (Buss drivers, parents, students, staff, etc.) and businesses like Quik Trip (More business in the morning).
6. Causes: Need for a tight schedule and people who don't know about teenage sleep patterns
