Notes & Evaluation For Evaluation Question 1

1. Ideas To Include?

1.1. I think it would be good to include real music videos of the Indie genre and analyse each one, making comparisons along the way between my music video and the others.

1.2. From location, to edits, mise en scene, sound, characters, narrative- all these aspects will be analysed and will be given attention to, to see whether we have followed, developed or challenged the conventions of the Indie genre.

1.3. I will justify why we chose to do certain things, such as include a simple and clear narrative of the ending of a relationship in our music video, ensuring to refer to Andrew Goodwin's theory throughout.

2. Evaluation Question 1

2.1. 'In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?'

3. Possible ICT Platforms

3.1. A presentation? A Slid.es/Prezi would be efficient for this evaluation question as it would enable me to present in-depth analysis through text as well as images and clips. This would make it much more interesting, clearer and memorable for the audience.

3.2. Camtasia? This would allow me to include text, images, videos, clips with annotations on them and audio. This would be very helpful and would be very interesting for the audience as they will have multiple ways of viewing and understanding my points, whether it is through an annotated clip, through text, through an audio of my voice, or a labelled image. All these would be efficient for my analysis of whether we challenged, conformed or developed conventions of the Indie genre.
