1. What I thought it was:

1.1. Basically anything with a screen.  TV, computer, cellphone, tablet etc.

1.1.1. Physically:

1.2. It is captivating, innovative, helpful, fascinating, educational, groundbreaking, simplifying

1.2.1. Mentally:

1.3. -A way for us all to connect with each other online -Methods of simple communication using different mediums (online, phone calls, text messaging) -Innovative methods of learning and teaching through "technology"

2. How I would have defined "Technology" in one sentence...

2.1. Technology is an innovative idea transformed into a physical object that helps us humans make everyday tasks easier.

3. How important I thought it was for everyday life...

3.1. "I can't survive without my TV, phone and computer. How would I live without the car, washing machine or even the CD player?" These are all seemingly necessary things that we need in our society which, maybe we do. To fit in, stay connected, and get things done each day.

4. What I understand about Technology NOW...

4.1. Technology isn't just the gadgets we have with a screen on it. Initially, I thought this because that is the age of when I was born and what i grew up with. It has been transformed through so many things over the past million years. It exists in everything, its the way we live. We created it, and we will continue to create incredible things out of other incredible things that help make our lives more extraordinary. It will also continue to simplify the tasks we complete on a daily basis, help us stay connected, and help ourselves grow in creative and innovative ways.

5. Technology in our Changing World

5.1. My creative aspect: On file in discussion box. (SLATE)

5.1.1. What I did: I designed a magazine article discussing lightly about how Technology is affecting us and what our perception of it is. Why this is creative: I am in the Advertising/Marketing program and I have skills in photoshop so I utilized those aspects to create an interesting article.

6.1.1. "Anything invented after you were born." "Technology is anything useful invented by a mind." "An extension of life." "Technology gives us diversity, differences, options, choices, opportunities, possibilities and freedoms. Humans naturally gravitate towards these." (T, 2010)

6.1.1.1. Why is it Needed?

6.1.1.1.1. "A world without technology? We wouldn't survive!" "We would be defenseless, unable to grow our own food and be a species that wouldn't be able to survive long enough to exchange historical information." (T, 2010)

6.3. How has Technology Helped Us?

6.3.1. "Technology is the most powerful force and source of help. Humanity is our greatest invention of which was morphed with technology. We need it to shape our lives and make things easier for us. We see that technology is accelerating parts of our lives." (T, 2010)

6.3.1.1. creates habit

6.3.1.2. it is engaging, gives us progress

6.3.1.3. has its precautions?

6.3.1.4. It is EVERYWHERE

7. Technology as Hardware

7.1. -a piece of hardware or an artifact -could be a clock, a shovel, or a laptop -these are all things that were invented by humans, not naturally by God (Dyer, 2009)

8. Technology as Manufacturing

8.1. -things we made that can make other things -from people running machines to the electrical grid powering a plant  -this conception of technology was largely non-existent before the Industrial Revolution (Dyer, 2009)

9. Technology as Methodology

9.1. -the brains/knowhow behind all these great inventions -this usage does not refer to a physical product but the routines, methods and skills used to create them -using techniques, changing our thinking of how we can put together a set of actions and do things different ways (Dyer, 2009)

10. Technology as a Social Usage

10.1. -top level of how WE as a society use technology -45 people forming an orchestra are also a kind of technology that binds together instruments, people and music (Dyer, 2009)
