French colonization of the Americas

1. France founded colonies in much of eastern North America, on a number of Caribbean islands, and in South America
2. Most colonies were developed to export products such as fish, sugar, and furs.
3. Colonizing the Americas helped the French benefit from a lot. Gaining access to natural resources for technological advances was something the French was able to benefit from.
4. During the 16th-17th century was when French imperialized.
