Aborigines: The Nyungar People of Jigalong von Mind Map: Aborigines: The Nyungar People of Jigalong

1. Religion

1.1. In their time in the Moore River Settlement, they were forced to go to church, leading me to infer that they were forced to practice Christianity.

2. Main Characters

2.1. Molly: She is taken at the age of 14 by the police. She is the oldest of the three girls and the leader and protector of the other two.

2.2. Gracie: She is taken at the age of 10, the second youngest taken from their village, Jigalong. During the journey, her main job is to help take care of Daisy, the youngest, while Molly leads the girls towards the village.

2.3. Daisy: She is the youngest girl on the journey, she is only 8 when taken. She is taken care of by both of the older girls, but does not play any other vital role in the story.

3. Indigenous People

3.1. People that have certain rights based on their ties to a territory. The Aborigines are indigenous people because they were native to the land and they were not as advanced as the rest of the country.

4. Culture

4.1. Tradition: Firing of weapons in the forest to flush out any game, including rabbits, kangaroos, etc.

4.2. Language: Because it is based in Australia, they speak English as their main language.

4.3. Job/Tradition: The chief of the village has only one job, making sure half-caste children are taken from their families and taken to a facility where they are taught to do domestic labor.
