1. PROPER TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: valid passport, visas, flight tickets, information about the local school and the place of stay, information about the school exchange and school in Finland
2. TRAVEL INSURANCE: have the information needed in case of emergency: where to get treatment if needed, what the insurance covers and how to apply it.
3. SELFCARE: know your limits and abilities, healthy lifestyle before, during and after travelling; sleep, excercise, nutrition, rest
4. VACCINATIONS AND HEALTH: Get to know what vaccinations are needed in the exchange country! Make sure you are in good condition to travel and be exposed to foreign surroundings!
5. BE POSITIVE AND RESPONSIBLE! ENJOY, BUT RATHER PLAY IT SAFE!
6. CONNECTIONS: family and friends, the school, Finnish consulate in the exchange country, the co-students in the exchange country, God
7. KNOWLEDGE: of the local culture, people, surroundings, most affectious diseases and hazards of the exchange country, what is considered safe and what is not. Be prepaped!
