1. Access to Chinese universities is regulated by exams that take place nationwide and are open to students of all ages
1.1. In total, there are more than 2,000 universities in China with around six million students enrolled.

2.1. This formula facilitates access to higher education for people with fewer resources.
3. The Chinese education system is very competitive, the levels of school failure are very low and the literacy rate exceeds 94%.

3.1.1. It is free for all students during the compulsory stage, which ranges from six to fifteen years.
