1. Durable Goods
1.1. Durable goods are used by non-consumers (which are classified as companies/administrations).
1.2. The Consumption of Durable Goods: They have a long-lasting value and apply for multiple usage.
1.3. The Production of Durable Goods: Durable goods are made with much potential; meaning they have more than just one sole purpose. An example could be a facility being made.
1.4. Examples: clothes, furniture, office equipment
2. Consumer Goods
2.1. Consumer goods are used by consumers. These items are seen as 'consumable' meaning they are basically used up almost instantly once bought
2.2. The Production of Consumable goods: producing these types of goods are usually meant to go into other products.
2.3. The Consumption of Consumable Goods: these types of goods are used immediately in most cases and usually have very limited uses.
2.4. Examples: food, hygiene products, home essential products
3. Content
3.1. The content of Information Goods is a vital tool to get one's product sold. You are able to reach a bigger audience by digitizing your product
3.2. Once digitized, the content can appear in magazines, Tv shows, etc and takes little to no maintenance to keep up AND it reaches more people if you were not to digitize it.
4. Carrier Medium
4.1. They are the devices in which are necessary to have if you want to receive the information good: You cannot receive music if you do not have a music player.
4.2. the carrier medium can also be referred to as an end device (DVD or iPod device)
5. Tertiary Media: refers to the use of technology and other secondary sources for gathering information. Things like textbooks, CD's, Dvd's, etc.
6. Quaternary Media: requires the use of ICT's to provide information to users
7. The Definition Of Information Goods According to Chapter Two of "Information Markets"
7.1. - the authors concluded that an information good is anything that can be digitized and is seen as useful by economists
7.2. A perfect example in todays society could be any of the following: books, movies, conversations and stock prices (pg. 24)
7.2.1. Primary Media: The "Carrier". This facilitates contact through interpersonal relationships through mediums like language, gestures, and facial expression
