1. Implement

1.1. Implementation includes final stakeholder review and integration of other instructors not originally on the design team.

1.2. PILOT - Create and conduct a pilot run of the course. Gather feedback and use to make final modifications. Initiate Train-the-Trainer as necessary.

1.3. DEMONSTRATE - Provide stakeholders a final demonstration of the course. Review feedback from the pilot. Gain final approval and schedule.

1.4. LAUNCH - Complete any Train-the-Trainer and launch course offerings.

1.5. Formative Evaluation

2. Evaluate

2.1. Evaluation as its own step includes defining metrics for evaluation criteria and means to gather those metrics. Qualitative evaluation compares the final product to the initial framework created in Analyze and Design steps.

2.2. SUMMATIVE - This evaluation summarizes the measured outcomes of training to measure success against the stated learning objectives.

2.3. COLLECT - To collect and measure the data, designers must determine the assessment or evaluative tools required.

2.4. QUALITATIVE - Gathering qualitative feedback can help assess the student experience in the classroom, LMS, and/or instructional environment.

3. Analyze

3.1. Analysis of the project defines the parameters for the Subject, the Audience, and the Outcomes.

3.2. GOALS - Who are the stakeholders and what are their expectations for training outcomes?

3.3. AUDIENCE - Who are the students and what characteristics define their style of learning?

3.4. STRATEGY/TOOLS - What is the instructional strategy to be used? Demonstration? Chunking? What is the modality and what tools are available to support that modality?

3.5. LIMITATIONS - What technology limitations exist? What limitations are present in the group of students being served? What is the level of pre-existing knowledge?

3.6. Formative Evaluation

4. Design

4.1. The design phase is characterized by learning objectives and an initial proof of concept to demonstrate the classroom experience.

4.2. OBJECTIVES - What are the learning objectives for each module of training in the program?

4.3. CONTENT - What is the order of content? How presented? How evaluated?

4.4. CONCEPTUALIZE - Create a storyboard representing the flow of content. Create a flowchart to define the content and align the assessments. Create a prototype of one module for proof of concept.

4.5. Formative Evaluation

5. Develop

5.1. The development phase is characterized by detailed content laid out according to the initial plan and tested using the technologies required for the students' experience.

5.2. CONTENT - Assemble all content required for the project. Organize according to the initial strategy. Include assessments and opportunities for student feedback.

5.3. COURSE - Upload course content to the LMS used and organize according to course flow and best user experience.

5.4. TECHNICAL REVIEW - Verify that all links and control buttons function properly for online media. Recruit a peer to assist with double checking course layout and technical functionality.

5.5. Formative Evaluation
