1.1. prevention of stroke and blood clots in pts w/ afib; prevention//tx of VTE

2.1. reversal agent for dabigatron (pradaxa)

2.1.1. if life threanening bleeding

2.2. ae: constipation, nausea, watch for thrombosis and restart anticoag ASAP

3. direct acting anticoags: first line for anticoags

3.1. apixaban; dabigatron; rivaroxaban; edoxaban

4. MOA: binds to and inactivate circulating and clot bound thrombin

5. agratroban; bivalirudin

5.1. for management of HIT; unstable angina undergoing PCTA

5.2. AE: bleeding - limits therapeutic use
