1. Step 3: The Individual Education Program Team (IEP)
1.1. This team of people will make decisions on student based on the report given by the Assistive Technology Specialist.
1.2. This team may be made up of: AT Specialaist, General Education Teacher, Special Ed Teacher, School Adminstrator, Parents, School Psychologist, School Counselor, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, School Nurse, Speech Pathologist, and/or Student.
2. Step 4: Implementation of the Assistive Technology Device
2.1. Once all 3 prior steps have been met, it is now time to begin using the assistive technology that the IEP team has decided on. Assessments should continue as the student begins using the device. These assessments will be ongoing and may need adjustments or additions as time goes on.
3. Step 1: Referral for Assistive Technology Assessment
3.1. Student may be referred by a family member, referral agency, physicican, teacher, or another school professional.

3.2. ALL prior and current data on student will be needed. The more information provided about the student, the better.

3.3. Information needed should be: 1) Student Data 2) Medical Data 3) Vision and Hearing Reports 4) Information on any technology equipment in use, 5) Background information regarding related services provided to student.
