1. Types of assessments: Formative, interim/benchmarked, and summative.

1.1. Definition of Formative Assessment: Process of gathering evidence of student learning, providing feedback, adjusting instruction strategies to enhance achievement.

1.1.1. Examples of formative assessment: discussion, quiz, observations, questioning, individual whiteboards.

1.2. Definition of Interim/benchmarked assessment: is a form of assessment that educators use to evaluate where students are in their learning progress and determine whether they are on track to performing well on future assessments.

1.2.1. Examples of Interim/benchmarked assessment: Informa observations, spontaneous, immediate feedback and instructional adjustments.

1.3. Definition of summative assessment: Are used to evaluate student learning, skill acquisition and academic achievement at the conclusion of a defined semester, program or school year.

1.3.1. Examples of summative assessment: Performance task, test, standardized test, written product, oral product.

2. Purpose of the assessment: Provide multiple measures of students performance and opportunities for students to create and demonstrate what they can do.

3. Definition: Assessment is the share process of gathering purposeful and systematic measurement for documentation, reflection and improvement of both student learning and institutional practices
