3.1. I will sit with this group and review the information that we had studied about the plight of the colonists and why the Declaration of Independence was drafted. We will review the Boston Tea Party and I will work with them to complete a graphic organizer of the essential elements of the injustices that the colonists were subjected to. I will include in their graphic organizer visual representations to help them identify the Quartering Act, Stamp and Sugar Act. I will also demonstrate to this group of learners the wording in the Declaration of Independence that addresses the colonists grievances so that they will have the confidence to participate in our next lesson when these elements are identified.
