1. GUIDING QUESTIONS: What rewards or recognition have courageous people received from society in our culture? How is this similar or different from how other cultures recognize their courageous? GUIDING ACTIVITY: Using on-line sources follow the stories of several people considered courageous in our culture and other cultures. Note how they are recognized and rewarded by their perspective communities. Present your findings in the form of a news editorial or documentary which include the similarities and differences you discover as well as your opinion on your findings.

3.1. Guiding Activity: Read first-hand accounts of people who have responded in courageous ways to events in their lives. Watch a movie that reveals people demonstrating courage. Create a bulleted list and document the following; Identify the reasons why they acted courageously. Who they influenced by acting courageously. The insecurities or hesitations they experienced. AK

4.1. 1 - Guiding Activity: Using the flip cam interview teacher, students, parents etc. asking individuals the above questions and other guiding questions you have created on your own. Also research what courage means. Using your research, create a webquest using wix.com for your classmates to obtain their own research on the subject. (RH)
