Computers por Mind Map: Computers

1. Output Devices: According to Lever-Duffy & McDonald (2011) "The pieces of hardware that move information (data that has been processed) out of the computer" (p. 119).

1.1. Some examples of output devices are printers, scanners, copiers, audio and screens

1.1.1. New node

1.2. There are several benefits and challenges to incorperating these devices into the classroom. The benefits are that they are there for the students to use and take advantage of. Technology really does enrich the learning experience when they are used properly. Some challenges to this, is with technology you get what you pay for. Not everything is made equally and some things produce better quality items than others. Headphones and small things like that will more than likely need to replaced frequently in schools due to damage and they are small enough that students might take them.

2. Some exmaples of input devices are keyboards, a mouse, audio and touchpads,

2.1. There are several benefits and challenges to having this stuff in the classroom. Quality is also an issue here, just as it was in output devices. Again, you get what you pay for. Not all webcams and speakers are made equally. Not all of these tools are made the same either so some stuents may struggle using the devices. But when used corectly under the watchful eye of a teacher that knows and understands technology, then he or she can explain how to use the tools to the students so they can get the most out of their time on the computer.

3. Input Devices: According to Lever-Duffy & McDonald (2011) "An input Device includes any computer periheral that you might use to enter data into the computer" (p. 117).
