3.1. Neurogenesis is triggered by physical activity;this means that brain cells begin to be reclaimed. Therefore, gray matter icreases its density so the cognitive performance is boosted
3.2. Physical activity promotes the production of BDNF wich is an enhancer in learning process and performance.
3.3. Being physically active gets you a better memory. Workout constantly biases the hppocampus and the ethornial cortex, both related with processes in the short and long-term memory.
3.4. Cognitive control is also improved by training your body. attention, reasoning, planning, problem solving, decision making, cognitive flexibility and inhibitory are those functions that become better. Also, working out can delay the detriment of those executive functions.
3.5. Mood disturbances can be minimized and prevented by doing exercise. (depression, anxiety...)
4. Sedentary lifestyle
4.1. Sedentarism, on the other hand; can lead to not only physical illnesess but mental too. Physical inactivity may contribute to anxiety and depression. Also it has been shown to be a risk factor for certain cardiovascular diseases.
4.2. Additionally, Obesity has increased its numbers in recent years, declining the cognitive performance of those ones who suffer it.
