FERROUS AND NON FERROUS METALS
por Hakim Faruq
1. FERROUS
1.1. CATEGORIES
1.1.1. Metal alloys that contain iron as a prime constituent.
1.1.2. E.g : steels, cast iron.
1.1.3. Tend to have a higher chance of corrosion.
1.2. ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES
1.2.1. Generally greater strength.
1.2.2. Generally greater stiffness.
1.2.3. Better for welding
2. NON FERROUS
2.1. CATERGORIES
2.1.1. Metal alloy contain less
2.1.2. Have a much higher resistance to corrosion
2.1.3. E.g : Cu, Al, Mg, Ti and its alloys
2.2. ADVANTANGES & DISAVANTAGES
2.2.1. Good resistance to corrosion.
2.2.2. Casting and cold working processes and are often easier
2.2.3. High ductility.
2.2.4. Higher thermal and electrical conductivities.
2.2.5. Colors.
