2. Reflections

2.1. Week 1

2.1.1. Guide: What is a discovery that was found during this time, and how is this related to the story?

2.1.2. Braylon

2.1.2.1. The Titanic discovery. As most of you know the Titanic was sunk in 1912 because it hit an iceberg. The sunken Titanic was discovered by a man named Robert Ballard. The Titanic was discovered by the man named Robert Ballard during the Cold War. And these treasures were both found in the sea so the book and the treasure is similar.

2.1.2.1.1. Miss Angela: Great comparison and connection! Check your writing for any repeating sentence.

2.1.3. Lucas

2.1.3.1. Junhos thing was connected to the story because he said at 1868 Charles Thomas found out like how deep sea life was.And connects because the main charecter is right now in a sub and a sub could be any where near where Charles Thomas said sea life could be but of course now we’ve found a lot more land but back then this what they could find Outland to find out more they needed a sub and right now the main character is in a sub so Bothe of them connect pretty well.

2.1.3.1.1. Miss Angela: Great logic and flow! The discovery(fact) is connected to the story very well. Let's put some periods, commas, and check spelling!

2.1.4. Junho

2.1.4.1. I think the discovery affected the story. In the story, Conseil and Ned Land found the Big Thing, which is the first submarine. This relates to my discovery #1 because Charles Wyville Thomson found that there is sea life 14,400 feet below ocean surface. So, Ned Land and Conseil found the “Big Thing” and Charles Wyville Thomson found sea life 14,400 feet below ocean surface, so they both discovered that there is life under sea.

2.1.4.1.1. Miss Angela: The Big Thing was the submarine. Is that life under sea? Do people live in the ocean usually? Usually life under sea means a living creature, not human staying underwater in the submarine. However, I like how you made that connection since it was not easy to find relatable points.

2.1.5. Jihwan

2.1.5.1. Titanic was sunken in1912 and this titanic helped the people to see the ocean more clearly. The French people first tested the echo sounder in 1919. Know with echo sounder people can see under the sea clearly. And the people’s and the book both discovered that the brighter it looks, it is easier to drive the boats.

2.1.5.1.1. Miss Angela: Jules Verne may have had the echo sounder in his imagination. Can you explain how Titanic help people see the ocean clearly?
