1. • What are the vision and goals of the agency?

1.1. Dr. Roz’s Healing Place recognizes that violence against women is a health issue. Through the delivery of innovative programs and services, Dr. Roz’s Healing Place helps empower women to make positive changes through the cultivation of a holistic lifestyle.

2. Does the agency specifically address equity, inclusion and historically marginalized communities (topic A or topic B)? How? Or How not?

2.1. This centre was built in 2004 and Dr. Roz is the first Black woman in Canada to build a centre for abused women and children. The centre recognizes the barriers that immigrant, black, or marinized women might endure. They give them the tools and knowledge to lead a healthy life one without violence. While the parent (mother who identifies herself as a women) are going through all this self-growth the children are occupies in camps, afterschool programs, in- school support. They also have access to therapy and support as well if they were victim to the same violence. They provide lunches, clothing, a place to stay and an all-inclusive daycare for the children in order for the parents to work and get back on their feet.

4. • How do they achieve this vision?

4.1. They provide abused women ages (16 and over) and their children a place to stay. While at the centre the mothers can take part in group therapy and receive any other follow up service required to get her back on her feet. They also strive to ensure that all those who identify as women and their dependents who experience violence will be provided access to emergency shelter services, regardless of their political or religious beliefs, whether they identify as a cisgender or transgender woman, their ethnocultural background, ability, or sexual orientation.

5. • How are services/programs accessed?

5.1. o These programs can be accessed by: Schools Police Social Worker Or walk ins o The program is available for anyone who find themselves in an abusive situation and needs to leave. They are here to help support the mother and the child that might have witnessed the abuse.
